The company is now led by Rok Rutar.
Kočevska Reka, February 1, 2024 – At the beginning of 2024, Rok Rutar took over the management of Snežnik from Kočevska Reka (now Fagus Slovenica). He is a university graduate in mechanical engineering and has acquired additional economic knowledge at the IEDC Bled School of Management. He gained experience abroad and in several successful Slovenian companies, and for the past four years, he led production at Papirnica Vevče.
“I believe Snežnik has excellent potential, which we will harness with every log we process,” says Rok Rutar. Among the goals aimed at maintaining market competitiveness, he highlighted investments in machine maintenance, as the company’s losses have largely been due to frequent breakdowns and worn-out equipment. Measures are also being implemented to improve resource efficiency and reduce fixed costs. In parallel, activities are underway for the long-term restructuring of the company, supported by Snežnik’s owner, SiDG. Modernizing production requires multi-million euro investments, which, according to a pre-investment study, are expected to be realized within two to three years.
